Pacheco Valle Ridge, Jan. 2017

First hike with Shakira on the Pacheco Valle Ridge after the torrential rains in January 2017.  Tree down on Chicken Shack Fire Road, but overall not too much damage.

A Little History

Just a little history about Pacheco Valle....Named for Ignacio Pacheco, one of California's early pioneers, Pacheco Valle is located in an area of Marin County which was originally the site of several Miwok Villages. A portion of Pacheco Valle history is preserved in perpetuity through the purchase of land by the Pacheco Valle residents and transferred to the Marin Open Space District. This protects a Miwok midden, or burial site, which is dated to be 3,000 years old.  To see how some of our Pacheco streets got their names click here

Pacheco has beautiful trails to explore but don't get lost!  To see how to access our ridge and valley trails click here.

SHARE YOUR PACHECO STORIES

Whenever I meet a fellow neighbor in Pacheco Valle, I hear stories of how much residents love this valley.  Share with me some of your stories and pictures of our beautiful Pacheco Valle.

My story:  Bill and I moved into Pacheco Valle when the first phase was being marketed for sale.  We bought a townhome in 1977 on Hawk Ridge Court.  Later on we bought a single family home in Pacheco and raised our family in this gorgeous valley.  We have hiked the ridge over 3000 times in the last 38 years and each time up find something new to see.  (Kathy Schlegel)
